There are two kinds of people in the world.
Those who live in abundance.
Those who live in lack.
Those who live in abundance know with every fiber of their being that they are enough, there is enough, the supplies will never run out. They know that there is no limit to the amount of happiness or success in the universe. They look up and see that there is room enough in the sky for every star to shine.
Those who live in lack know with every fiber of their being that they will never be enough. There isn't enough. The supplies are always running low and only a few select and lucky individuals are allowed to be happy and successful. They look down and see only the dirt under their feet.
Those who live in abundance know that not only is the glass always full, but you can drain every last drop with gleeful abandon and reach your cup out with total conviction that the universe gives free refills.
Those who live in lack know that the cup may be half full, but someone or something is sure to knock it over and spill the contents in the very near future.
Those who live in abundance freely share their happiness, knowledge, success and wealth with others, because they know that there is an endless supply.
Those who live in lack hoard, covet and hide. They convince themselves that everyone is an enemy and a threat. They live in a state of constant competition. They knock other people down for the slightest crumb of what they think they need and feel fully justified in doing so.
Those who live in abundance don't have time or energy to judge others. They see the world and all who dwell upon it as perfect creations of the great cosmic is. They see no need for competition. They don't take things personally.
Those who live in lack spend much of their time focused on everything but themselves. They judge, scold, lecture, point, pontificate, bloviate and blather. They see the world as a deeply flawed place and all who dwell upon it as imperfect creatures who hold nothing of the divine spark inside. They take everything personally.
Those who live in abundance still have sad days and tough times and extended visits from chaos, but they hold on through these storms to the knowledge that reality is an illusion. They know that sunny skies will return and that even in the darkest of days, there is hope.
Those who live in lack spend most of their days feeling sad and sorry. They live in a constant state of emergency and chaos has taken up permanent residency. They tell themselves that life is a shit sandwich and duly choke it down. They want to believe that there are sunny skies, somewhere, but they mostly think that's a myth like unicorns and rainbows.
Every one of us at any moment can choose to live in a state of lack or a state of abundance. These are, after all, states of mind and not being.
There is only one kind of person, ultimately. We already are perfect creations of the great cosmic is. We just have to embrace that and know that whatever we see as imperfection, the master sees as a miracle.
So...what's your choice?

That's going on my quote wall. :-) H.
Aw now...blushing. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWow! Such a great article Madge! I can honestly say that I used to live in lack. More so when I first started my small jewelry business. I felt as if my designs weren't good enough, etc, etc, etc..
ReplyDeleteI'm now happy to say that once I realized there is more than enough for all, that I began to live my life in abundance. And it is most certainly wonderful. Of course it's not all butterflies and rainbows, but I know even the biggest speed bump will pass, and my glass is still full :) Thanks for such an awesome post! You're amazing!
Needed to read this today! Time to stop living in lack :)
